Turai Kaptan Mahmud served in the Israel Defense Forces. Kaptan served with the Infantry.
בן מחמוד. נולד בשנת 1939 בעוספיה למשפחה דתית בכפר הדרוזי שעל הר-הכרמל. בתוך המשפחה גדל ולמד בבית-הספר היסודי בכפר עד שסיים את לימודיו בו. כל מי שהכיר אותו נתחבר אליו. בגלל המצב המשפחתי לא יכול היה להמשיך את לימודיו. בשנת 1956 התגייס לצה"ל והמשפחה מציינת, כי לא היה הכבוד שבנה יהיה בין הראשונים כדי להיות לדוגמה לשאר בני-הנוער. ביום 1 בפברואר 1957 נפל בשעת מילוי תפקידו והובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי שבעוספיה.
