Turai Yair Korah served in the Israel Defense Forces. Yair served with the Infantry. Yair served in the War of Independence. Yair was 25 years old.
בן שרה וחיים, נולד ביום כ"ב באב תרפ"ב (16.8.1922) בירושלים. הוא סיים בית-ספר יסודי ובכוחות עצמו רכש לו השכלה תיכונית, ואחר-כך עבד כנהג. במלחמת-העולם השנייה שירת חמש שנים כנהג בחיל-האוויר הבריטי. אחרי שחרורו הצטרף לקואופרטיב "המסילה" שהקימו עשרה נהגים, חיילים משוחררים, שעסקו בהובלת משאות, אך עסקי הקואופרטיב לא הצליחו והוא נתפרק. יאיר נתקבל לעבודה כנהג בחברת האשלג, נשא אישה ואמר לבנות לו קן-משפחה שקט. מלחמת-העצמאות שפרצה אילצתו לדחות תוכניות אלו לזמנים שקטים וטובים יותר. יאיר התגייס לצבא, שירת בחטיבת ירושלים, וכעבור שלושה שבועות, ביום כ"ג בניסן תש"ח (2.5.1948) נהרג בתאונת-נשק בעומדו על משמרתו ליד מחסום של עמדה ברחוב מאה שערים בירושלים. נקבר בסנהדריה. ביום י"ט באלול תשי"א (20.9.1951) הועבר למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בהר- הרצל בירושלים.
