Samal Arie Naiger served in the Israel Defense Forces. Arie served with the Intelligence Corps. Arie served in the War of Attrition. Arie was 20 years old.

What Happened

בן שמעון ואיטה. נולד ביום י"ט באדר תש"י (8.3.1950) בירושלים. הוא סיים את לימודיו היסודיים והתיכוניים בגימנסיה העברית שבעיר. שלוש שנים 1963)-1966) היה חבר בתנועת-הנוער של "הצופים", בגדוד "הנגב" שבשבט "מצדה", בירושלים. אריה אהב במיוחד מוסיקת ג'ז ושירי עמים. היה לו אוסף תקליטים מרשים והוא נהג להאזין להם בכל שעת-פנאי בחברת ידידיו הקרובים. הוא היה מקדיש גם זמן רב לקריאת ספרות יפה. עם זאת היה איש חברה מובהק והוא הוא שאירגן תמיד מפגשי חברה והיה הרוח החיה שבהם גם תלמיד מצטיין היה, שחבריו פונים אליו בבקשת עזרה בלימודים והוא נענה ומסייע להם. ברצון ובמאור פנים עשה זאת, כי היה סמל החביבות והנעימות. מורו כתב למשפחתו לאחר נפלו וציין את הצד האנושי שבו, את ישרו, את שאיפתו למלא את המוטל עליו בשקט ובשלמות. הוא לא הסתפק בפחות מן המושלם. אריה גויס לצה"ל ביולי 1968. ביום ט"ו באדר ב' תש"ל (23.3.1970), נפטר. הובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי שעל הר-הרצל בירושלים.
