בן יונה ושלום, נולד בשנת 1911 בעיר צנעא, בירת תימן. היה חניך "חדר" ויודע ספר, משמש בקודש ועוזר לחכמי העדה. בשנת 1943 עלה לארץ, התיישב ברעננה ושירת את הציבור בחתונות ובריתות וכו'. יוסף פירנס את משפחתו בכבוד, נודע בעדתו והיה אהוב עליה. כאב מטופל בילדים היה פטור משירות מלא, ומשום-כך הוטלו עליו מדי פעם תפקידי שמירה במסגרת חטיבת "אלכסנדרוני". ביום ז' באייר תש"ח (16.5.1948), כאשר עסק בעבודת ביצורים ליד רמת הכובש, נפגע ומת בו במקום. הובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית- הקברות ברעננה. השאיר אחריו אישה, רבקה, וחמישה ילדים.
