Turai Mordehai Geler served in the Israel Defense Forces. Mordehai served with the Infantry. Mordehai served in the War of Independence. Mordehai was 19 years old.
בן אדה ועזרא, נולד ביום ל' בתשרי תרפ"ט (14.10.1928) בבודפשט, בירת הונגריה. הוא סיים שלוש כיתות בבית-ספר תיכון ואחר-כך למד חשמלאות ועבד במקצועו. נתנסה בתלאות מלחמת-העולם השנייה כאשר נאלץ להתחבא מפני הכובשים הנאצים ועוזריהם ההונגרים ששלחו עשרות אלפי יהודים למחנות-השמדה בפולין ועמד בסכנות המצור וההפגזה הרוסית על העיר לפני כיבושה. אחרי המלחמה יצא לאיטליה ובשנת 1946 הגיע לארץ בנתיב- ההעפלה והחל לעבוד בדגניה א'. משהחלו הקרבות במלחמת-העצמאות התנדב לשירות בחטיבת ירושלים והשתתף בפעולות ובקרבות בכפר עציון, הקסטל, שייח'- ג'ראח ועל הר-ציון. בימי ההפוגה הראשונה, בהיותו בשכונת טלביה, נהרג בתאונה ביום י"ח בתמוז תש"ח (25.7.1948) ונקבר בסנהדריה בירושלים. ביום כ"ה באלול תשי"א (26.9.1951) הובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בהר- הרצל בירושלים.
