MESSAGE BASES

Message Bases

The board's public conversations, one base for each subject. Open bases can be read by anyone here; the rest are for members. Members write them on the board, from a real Commodore or right here in the browser.

What is a message base?

Think of the cork board at a users group meeting. Each base is one board on the wall, for one subject: the C64, the Amiga, buying and selling. You read what others pinned up, reply, or start something new. Messages stay up for everyone who calls after you, which is how a board with one phone line could hold a conversation between hundreds of people.

Each users group base can have its own Operator, a member the sysop trusts to keep it tidy.
