C-Net 64 and DS2
RIGHTS UNKNOWN1986Perspective Software
The C64 C-Net line: C-Net 10, 11 and 12, and DS2, which is still looked after.
The story
C-Net began with Ken Pletzer at Perspective Software. Jim Selleck wrote the 11.x line, which became DS2 in 1986, and Don Gladden and Ray Kelm wrote C-Net 12.0 in 1987. That release sold for $64.95 and came with a small plug for the joystick port that the program checked for, so a copy without it would not run. There was a C-Net for the 128 as well.
DS2 grew a network of its own in 1989, which became the basis for CommNet. DS2 changed hands in 2012 and is still looked after today. C-Net on the Amiga is a different program; it has its own page.
