The story
The 128D/81 is a prototype: a plastic-case C128D with a built-in 3.5-inch drive in place of the usual 5.25-inch 1571, from around 1986 or 1987. The drive inside may have been an early 1581 or a related design, and the machine carries no model name of its own; collectors gave it this one. It never went into production, and the few known examples are rare finds.
