The Commodore 77: a 77 MHz 64C for Night City
Commodore's first hardware partnership is a Cyberpunk 2077 edition of the slimline Ultimate, limited to 500 pre-orders at $377.
Commodore brought a surprise to Gamescom in Cologne: the Commodore 77, the first hardware partnership in the company's history, styled after the look of the game Cyberpunk 2077.
Underneath it is a 64C, built in the same original case molds as the new C64C Ultimate, with a weathered, lived-in finish. As the name promises, its processor can run at up to 77 MHz.
No, it will not run Cyberpunk 2077. What it does come with is an exclusive 8-bit Cyberpunk game in demo form, along with a themed box, enamel pins and BASIC programs to type in, the way magazines used to print them.
Only 500 are being made, all through pre-order, at $377. Commodore has not given a ship date yet; the company says its focus is on building and shipping.
