PETSCII News · ON THIS BOARD
The file libraries are open
Fifteen libraries on the board, with downloads by Punter or XMODEM over telnet, and one click in the browser.
Press [$] on the main menu and you are in the file libraries: fifteen of them, for C64 communications, utilities, games, demos, music, PETSCII art, programming and text, and for the 128, the VIC-20, the PET and CBM, the Plus/4 and 16, the Amiga and the C64 Ultimate.
How Files Come Down
Call by telnet and the board offers Punter or XMODEM, the two protocols a Commodore terminal of the day would expect. Every file is checked against its fingerprint before it leaves, so what you get is byte for byte what we hold. Call from the browser and a download is one click: the board hands your browser a pass and the file saves under its real name.
Uploads
Members can send files up as well: up to 1 MB each and ten a day. They land in NEW UPLOADS, where the sysop checks them before they go out to everyone.
The First Files
The shelves start with a terminal program for the 64, a file copier and a macro assembler, each offered just as its authors released it. More are coming.
