Commodore opens its name to the community
A new program lets checked community projects carry the official Commodore logo and name.
For forty years the Commodore community has been making things the company never did: new hardware, new games, new tools. Now the company wants to put its name on some of them.
The Commodore Licensing and Affiliate Pipeline, CLAP for short, opened as a beta this year. Community projects can apply to use the official Commodore logo, wordmark and website alongside their work, and in return the rest of us get one place to find them. Commodore says every application goes through strict checks before the name is allowed on anything.
Commodore has also said it means to release peripherals, accessories and software for the Commodore 64 family, and to pick up, in its words, where the company left off in the 1990s.
If you build for the Commodore, it may be worth a look. And if you run a board, the BBS list here is open too: send yours in from the BBS List page.
