LeBron James hit gym, flexed ripped abs just before shocking Lakers decision went public

Add The California Post on Google The only thing LeBron James was sweating in the hours before his stunning Lakers decision went public was an intense workout.

In some videos James shared to his Instagram page Tuesday morning just before it was revealed he won’t wear purple and gold in 2026, the future Hall of Famer looked carefree in the gym.

James got in a sweat session while listening to Jeezy’s “Go Hard,” and at one point during the workout, he stripped off his shirt to do some plyo ball work.

James briefly paused the conditioning to show off his topless frame in a mirror selfie, and his ripped abs were visible in the flick.

“Go hard or go home,” he wrote in a caption on the image.

James also wrote in another caption that his trip to the weight room occurred at around 5:51 a.m. — only a few hours before his agent, Rich Paul, informed media members that James’ time in a Lakers uniform was done.

According to Shams Charania, the Lakers had interest in bringing James back, but he’ll instead opt to head elsewhere in ’26.

James joined the Lakers in 2018 via free agency, and he went on to help the team win the 2020 NBA championship.

In his eight total seasons in Los Angeles, James made the All-Star team every year and averaged 26.9 points, 7.6 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game.

It’s unclear where James will play next — NBA free agency officially begins later Tuesday — however the Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers are widely viewed as the next potential landing spots for the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.
