Now, more than six months since Steve reported to federal prison in South Dakota, his sons are leaning on each other more than ever, especially when it comes to running McBee Farm & Cattle Co.

“With him being gone, there was a big void to fill with work, with life, with being the leader of the family,” Cole McBee told DECIDER when he and his fiancée Kacie Adkison stopped by our studio. “Everyone stepped up in their own way to really make this last year happen and to be able to get through this bad situation we’re going through.”

Despite the hardships, Cole and his brothers seem to be maintaining a positive outlook on the ordeal. Per the cattle rancher, they are hoping their dad will get out of prison “by the end of the year,” which would cut his initial sentence in half. In the meantime, Cole—who said he visits Steve every couple of weeks—is looking forward to taking his 18-month-old daughter, Blair, and Jesse and Alli McBee’s daughter, Summer, to “Bring Your Grandchild to Jail Day.”

“Blair and Summer will get to hang out with him in jail for a day,” Cole said, eliciting a giggle from his wife-to-be. “Instead of just sitting in a room, they get to hang out with him. So, that will be fun.”

While they’ve had to grapple with the struggles left in the wake of Steve’s absence, this last year has also marked an exciting time for Cole and Adkison, who got engaged in November 2025 and, within a few months, announced that they were expecting their second child, another daughter.

“Nervous,” they simultaneously responded when asked how they were feeling about having two under two. Adkison added, “It’s very humbling to be this pregnant and chasing after a wild toddler. I’m ready for the baby to get here, and then we’ll just figure out our new normal.”

When the couple stopped by DECIDER’s studio, they also gave an update on Steven McBee Jr. following his breakup with Allie Eklund, shared more about their wedding plans, and teased how things are going between Galyna Saltkovska and Masha Petrova. Check out the full interview below.

DECIDER: I’m so excited to have you both here at what is such an exciting time for you! You had a baby, you got engaged, you’re getting ready to welcome another baby girl. How are you both feeling about having two under two?

COLE MCBEE & KACIE ADKISON: Nervous.

COLE: We are nervous because Blair is so busy. She’s so much fun, but she is busy all the time. So, we are very nervous about how having another baby and chasing her around is going to be. But I told her, “It can’t be any harder than being eight months pregnant and chasing Blair around.”

KACIE: It’s very humbling to be this pregnant and chasing after a wild toddler. I’m ready for the baby to get here, and then we’ll just figure out our new normal.

How is the wedding planning going? Do you have a date set yet?

COLE: We’ve been thinking. It’s probably going to be next fall. We’ve kind of got a couple of dates in mind. But the cool thing is, we’re going to get married on our farm so we can just plan it eight months before, nine months before and any date is available.

KACIE: Yeah, we don’t have to worry about booking a venue.

COLE: It makes it really nice. We’re excited that it’s going to be right there. It’s really going to be behind our house, in our pasture. We already have a spot picked out and everything, so it’s gonna be really cool. But we just need to get my dad back and get it planned.

I want to get into some things we’re seeing this season, which really, at the heart of it, is following you guys as you navigate your dad’s sentence. How is he doing today? And how is the family doing?

COLE: The only way we’ve been able to get through this is because we’re all so close and we’ve been leaning on each other. Man, that’s the only way we’ve been able to get through this. Because having [Kacie], having my mom, having my brothers, Alli McBee, we were able to step up and with my dad being gone, lean on each other and really get through it, and that’s been the hardest part. With him being gone, there was a big void to fill with work, with life, with being the leader of the family. It just took a lot and everyone stepped up in their own way to really make this last year happen and to be able to get through this bad situation we’re going through.

Have you been in contact with him a lot?

COLE: Yeah. We see him once a month or once every couple of weeks. We went out there last weekend. This weekend, there’s a “Bring Your Grandkid to Jail Day.”

I didn’t know that was a thing!

COLE: I didn’t know either! Blair and Summer will get to hang out with him in jail for a day. We’re going up there, too. Instead of just sitting in a room, they get to hang out with him. So that will be fun.

He’s probably so excited for that.

COLE: He is. He’s been emailing us. We can email and then call like 15 minutes a day. But yeah, he’s been emailing us all day like, “I’m so excited for Friday. You guys are still coming, right?” We’re like, “Oh, yeah. We’re gonna be there.”

We saw very little of your dad in these last couple of seasons. Do either of you think he’ll come back to filming full-time once he’s back home?

COLE: We just got to get through everything going on. Obviously, we’re all filming at the same time. But for my dad, with how much is going on, it’s been nice for him to kind of step away and not have to worry about that as everything else is going on. I would say once all of this is finished up, because he gets out by the end of the year, hopefully. But it ain’t over when he gets out. We’ve got to finish up everything with the government. Whenever that’s all finished up, I’d say once all the problems are fixed and we’re back to normal life, he’ll probably be back to it. But we’ve just got a lot of problems to fix first, so he’s going to focus on those once he gets out.

Shifting gears a bit. Steven Jr. has been in the news quite a bit lately for his relationship with Allie Eklund. Kacie, you seemed to really like Allie when you first met her. How do you feel about her now that everything has unfolded? And have you been in touch?

KACIE: We haven’t really been in touch. I’ve talked to her once or twice, but she’s moving on. Steven’s moving on. I think it’s best for both of them. Steven’s working on himself. I want both of them to be happy.

Does it surprise either of you that Allie and Calah have been in contact since Steven and Allie’s breakup?

COLIE: A little bit, just because of things that were said. Like, things she said about her and things Calah said about her. But it is what it is. Steven needs to work on himself and he’s doing that. Steven’s getting better. That’s the most important thing. We can’t fix the past, but he can fix the future, so Steven’s just working on himself. Honestly, I would say as of right now, he’s in the best mental headspace he’s ever been in and he’s at the most peace in life, which I’m happy for him. It took a long time for him to get here and I’m happy he’s here.

In happier news, your engagement episode is coming up. Cole, were you always planning to propose to Kacie at that time? Or did Steven kind of light that fire under you when he said he wanted to propose to Allie?

COLE: That is a good question. I was always planning on proposing, but I guess I was like, “I got to figure it out.” So I kept pushing it back. I was like, “I’m gonna do it here, I’m gonna do it there.” And I kept pushing it back. Then when Steven started, I was like, “Okay, I better get it done now.” Because if he proposed before me, I would have been in some trouble. But I was planning on doing it. We were fully planning on doing it. It was just, not to blame my dad, but everything with my dad’s situation, it just didn’t seem like the right time with everything going on, I wanted it to be all about her and I wanted it to be a good moment, which it was when it happened. Once that was all through and it felt like the right time, I was able to do it. But Steven definitely pushed me a little bit.

Kacie, Cole said at BravoCon that you celebrated so hard that night you slept on the bathroom floor. Will we get to see these celebrations in the show? What do you remember about that night?

COLE: Actually, you guys see the first half of the celebration. I think after midnight is when it got really bad. Because then we went to her local hometown bar with all her friends and family after that.

KACIE: I think you see the aftermath.

COLE: You do. You see the next morning.

COLE: You get to meet Teagan on Season 2, which is Jake’s fiancée and one of our really good friends. She’s a little wild card. When she and Kacie get together, they have a lot of fun. She was with Kacie that night and they went hard.

Kacie, you have a budding business of your own at McBee Farms! How is that going? What do your future plans look like for the business?

KACIE: Yeah. So I started the tallow business for Blair. It wasn’t going to be a business. Viewers get to watch every single step of me starting a business, and I do not know how to run a business, so it was very interesting. Me and Steven kind of butt heads a little bit when it comes to the business. But now the business is going extremely well. Cole’s my first worker.

COLE: Yeah, I am. I do all the work for her. She’s my boss. On some days I go from taking care of cattle to back in there listening to my fiancée boss me around.

KACIE: It was just a passion project. With everything going on with his dad, I wanted to not have to rely so much on the family businesses. I was staying home with Blair and I wanted to keep doing that. So, that’s how the business started.

There was a moment in the teaser where you said you weren’t giving Allie 20% of your business. I initially thought you meant Ally McBee. But then I remembered Steven’s Allie Eklund. Can you clarify which Allie you were talking about?

KACIE: It’s not Alli McBee.

COLE: I would say if Alli McBee had time, she would be involved with it. But with her being a nurse practitioner, she’s very tied with that. But definitely not Alli McBee on that part.

I’m glad to hear that because I was like, “No, they can’t fight!”

KACIE: Yeah, no. We don’t fight.

Cole, it seems like you are constantly trying to prove yourself to Steven and your other brothers. Do you feel like they are starting to take you more seriously now?

COLE: I think so. Things are going about as good as they could be going for the situation we’re in. I really didn’t get that opportunity until the situation with my dad, and it kind of got forced upon us. Steven was really keeping it tight on him being in charge of everything. Lately, he’s really given me the reins and really let me take control. I feel like everything is running the best it’s run in a long time. Things are going really smoothly as they are right now. It’s about as smooth as they can be with everything going on.

I need to ask you two about the Galyna and Masha of it all. Are Masha and Steve still together? Where does she stand with the rest of the family? What advice would you give her?

COLE: Stay in your lane, maybe. I mean that in a nice way. We’re going through a lot as a family and we’ve been getting through it as a family. Obviously, she can have a relationship with my dad and that’s fine. But have that relationship and keep that relationship. Don’t try to involve yourself in family problems and what’s going on with the family.

KACIE: It’s just so complex. The way she came into the family was her situation with Galyna, so it already started out on a rough foot. We all tried to have a relationship with her. But then as things started getting closer to the time of Steve going away, we started having more family dinners with Cole’s mom, and Masha just wasn’t okay with that. That was just the worst time she could possibly have an issue with anything going on with the family. There was a big wedge between everyone after that. She is still with Cole’s dad from what we know. But none of us have a personal relationship with her.

COLE: Well, we all knew her as Galyna’s best friend. She tries to fight that. My dad even tries to say, “Oh, no.” Like, we all knew her as Galyna’s best friend. That’s how we knew her. Obviously, it’s a rocky situation from the beginning. It ain’t very smooth. Then you involve Galyna, who doesn’t take things too well. She’s not very calm when she takes things. It’s a mess.

COLE: It’s literally still going on to this day, to this hour. I’m sure Galyna is mad about Masha right now, if I’m being honest, as we’re speaking.
