Two lucky Pai Gow players rake in six-figure jackpots within moments of each other at California casino

Two insanely lucky Pai Gow Poker players hit six-figure jackpots within minutes of each other on Friday at a California casino.

Both players drew five aces in a game of Face Up Pai Gow Poker to win a combined $261,000, Thunder Valley Casino Resort said.

The first player drew the lucky hand, the best possible in the game, winning $135,440, including a $4,000 “Fortune Bonus.”

Moments later, “lightning struck twice,” the casino said.

A second player drew a similar hand and won $126,000, including a $4,000 “Fortune Bonus.”

The casino said just one hand would have been a rare occurrence.

“It’s not every day we celebrate a Five Aces jackpot, let alone two,” Dawn Clayton, General Manager of Thunder Valley Casino Resort, said in a press release. “We are thrilled for our two lucky winners. What a great start to their weekend.”

Neither winner has been identified. The casino told The California Post that “both guests declined publicity.”

“While jackpot wins are always exciting, you never know if you could be the next table games winner,” the casino teased.

Thunder Valley Casino Resort, which has more than 400 hotel rooms and 3,500 slot machines, is located about 27 miles northeast of Sacramento.

The casino has been the site of extraordinary luck in the recent past. A different player won a six-figure Pai Gow jackpot for $140,000 on June 13.

And an $8.80 spin from an anonymous gambler turned into a $381,009 payday on a 10-cent slot machine last month at the resort.
