Theaters troll ‘Supergirl’ movie fans with most disturbing collectible souvenir yet: ‘Looks like a fleshlight’

Add The New York Post on Google The only thing “super” about this novelty cup is its controversy.

The promotional 3D drink cup released by the Mexican theater chain Cinépolis for the upcoming “Supergirl” movie has gone viral for all the wrong reasons.

The intended design features the Girl of Steel in a trench coat, but internet trolls say the skin-colored, folded plastic resembles a piece of male anatomy rather than a superhero outfit.

Supergirl T-shirts, posters, phone cases and totes are additional merch items available for fans to purchase. Theme Parklife/Facebook “I’m starting to think the designers are doing it on purpose,” one TikTokker quipped on a video with 6.4 million views roasting the cup.

Social media has been ruthless, with one Instagram user begging: “Hello, yes, I would like the circumcised Supergirl cup please.”

Another confused fan asked the question on everyone’s mind: “Why does it have a foreskin?”

Even Superman himself is shielding his eyes.

David Corenswet, the star of the 2025 Superman reboot who also appears in the new Supergirl flick, isn’t a fan of the viral vessel promoting his movie. He and his co-star Nicholas Hoult couldn’t believe their eyes.

“I don’t like that one bit,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “I don’t understand, and I don’t think I want it explained.”

Australian actress Milly Alcock stars as Kara Zor-El in the DC Universe (DCU) film Supergirl, which released in theaters on June 26, 2026. Warner Bros. Hoult then mumbled, “It reminds me of…” before Corenswet stopped him, saying, “No, no no no no.”

This isn’t the first time movie merch has crossed the line into the obscene.

From the infamous “Dune: Part Two” sandworm bucket, which is listed on eBay for +$800, to the recent “The Odyssey” Trojan horse bucket with a popcorn pouch in a vile position, marketers seem to be trolling the public.

Popcorn buckets have become a field of their own, with AMC selling ones for virtually every new movie that releases now: The Devil Wears Prada 2, Toy Story 5 and Disclosure Day. To continue to profit off of collectors, they also release anniversary buckets for old movies like a Shrek 25th anniversary or Space Jam 30th anniversary.

This circumsized sippy is being sold for $24.99, and loony collectors are still buying it, with one Redditor saying, “Foreskin cup ftw!!! All jokes aside, that cup looks really cool from the front.”

But with each fan showcasing their new purchase comes a jarred commenter: “Ha, somebody actually bought the rubber dick cup!”

“Supergirl” made $13 million in its first day at the global box office and has more than $100 million in media value from its global promotional partner campaign, DC Studios’ biggest ever.

So, an underselling fan cup may not be the worst thing in the world for Supergirl.
