Sections of Pan Hoi Street and King’s Road cordoned off while members of police’s explosive ordnance disposal bureau investigate

The force was alerted at 4.52pm on Thursday to a suspicious object discovered on Pan Hoi Street in Quarry Bay.
“The explosive ordnance disposal bureau has been summoned to investigate the object,” a spokesman said.
A source said the object was not believed to be a bomb.
Another source said the object was about 1.5 metres (4.9 feet) long, with a diameter of around 50cm (19.7 inches).
