A hybrid live action-animation feature, “The Sheep Detectives” is based on the novel “Three Bags Full” by Leonie Swann and hit theaters in early May. It comes to Prime Video today, June 24.
Hugh Jackman stars as George Hardy, a shepherd who we learn cares deeply for his flock. He gives them all names, knows all of their individual needs, and every night, reads them murder mystery detective novels. Until one day, when George’s mysterious death leads to the titular sheep becoming detectives.
His flock, unsatisfied with the way humans are handling this investigation, decide to take matters into their own… cloven hooves… even if it means leaving their meadow for the first time in their lives.
“The Sheep Detectives” was a critical success, currently holding a 95% certified fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
