Reporter Devan Kaney leaves Philadelphia network ‘for bigger market’ after Eagles firing

Add The New York Post on Google It didn’t take long for former Eagles sideline reporter Devan Kaney to find a new job.

Kaney has found a job in a “bigger market” after being let go from 94.1 WIP Philadelphia as part of its second wave of layoffs earlier this year.

There were limited details on the where and when of her new role, but Kaney did mention “you can prob still catch me on Fox airwaves.”

Kaney was still in a weekend anchor role at Fox 29 Philadelphia, which she continued to do after the WIP layoff in March.

Awful Announcing reported that based on media market data, the possibilities are New York, Los Angeles, Chicago or Dallas-Ft. Worth.

“I had a blast working at WIP and sincerely enjoyed my time there,” Kaney told Rob Tornoe at the Philadelphia Inquirer in March. “But as the old saying goes, when one door closes, another opens.”

Kaney recently reposted a tweet from a Philadelphia X account saying she deserved better.

“Last week was my final sportscast at [Fox 29 Philadelphia],” Kaney wrote on X. “I’m so excited to share what’s next for me, but first I have to shoutout my incredible friends, family, and colleagues who have been so supportive over the last few months as I navigated my next career move.

“Change is never easy, but I’m grateful for the people in my life who make sure I know that I am never alone.”

She will continue to host her Phillies podcast “Werth Talking About.”
