13-year-old boy falls down waterfall of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Disneyland

Add The California Post on Google A 13-year-old boy’s trip to Disneyland ended in a hospital visit after he allegedly climbed out of a vehicle on one of the park’s most popular rides and continued down its iconic waterfall.

The teen, riding Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Sunday, exited the vehicle before the ride ended, a Disneyland Resort official told The California Post. The boy then allegedly slid down the attraction’s 50-foot drop, according to online accounts of the incident.

“I was in the ride when this happened I actually saw the kid fall down the hill for a second when our log passed the fall. 4 people in our log saw it and then one minute later the ride stopped for probably 10 minutes then it started again we went throughout the ride like nothing happened,” one user said on Reddit.

“When we got off there were about 6 Disney police and a mother and two kids were with them all soaked,” they continued.

The ride — formerly known as Splash Mountain — was immediately shut off by a Disneyland employee, a resort official told The Post. The teen was then taken to be evaluated at a local hospital but eventually released.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure was back up and running Monday without issue after it was inspected by officials from the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA), The Post learned.
