Add The New York Post on Google After spending two seasons building up to a war and one major cliffhanger, it’s finally time for the Dance of the Dragons to commence on “House of the Dragon.”

The “Game of Thrones” prequel returns for its third season tonight, June 21, and it’ll be a bloody affair.

The Targaryen civil war that the first two seasons led up to is finally here, and showrunner Ryan Condal confirmed that the season will open with the infamous naval Battle of the Gullet from George R. R. Martin’s “Fire and Blood” novel.

In her review of the new season, The Post’s TV reporter Lauren Sarner wrote, “after two seasons of build-up to a war, the “Game of Thrones” prequel finally gets to the good part. Season 3 is all gas, no brakes.”

Sarner concludes by saying, “if you liked the first two seasons of ‘House of the Dragon,’ you’ll like Season 3 more.”

The Season 3 premiere of “House of the Dragon” will be released at 9 p.m. ET on HBO Max tonight, June 21 — the same date and time it premieres on the HBO cable channel.

If you don’t get HBO through traditional cable, you’ll need an HBO Max subscription to tune in to “The Pitt.” If you’re new to HBO Max, you can sign up for as low as $10.99/month with ads, but an ad-free subscription will cost $18.49/month.

If you want to stream even more and save a few bucks a month while you’re at it, we recommend subscribing to one of the discounted Disney+ Bundles with Hulu and HBO Max. With ads, the bundle costs $19.99/month and without ads, $32.99/month.
