61-year-old man and his 31-year-old son arrested outside Sam Shing food stalls for allegedly assaulting public officers
1-MIN READ1-MINJess MaPublished: 10:04pm, 21 Jun 2026Hong Kong police have arrested an elderly man and his son for allegedly assaulting public officers after they threw a parking ticket at two traffic wardens in Tuen Mun, the South China Morning Post has learned.
A source said on Sunday that police arrested the 61-year-old man and his 31-year-old son outside cooked food stalls in Sam Shing at 11.40 am.
Earlier, at around 11.30am, a traffic warden had issued a parking ticket when the two men returned and disputed the penalty.
During the confrontation, the older man allegedly threw the ticket at a female warden, aiming at her forehead and chest.
A male traffic warden then approached to assist his colleague, but the younger man reportedly picked up the ticket and threw it at him twice.
