Aaron Judge: Knicks and Yankees 2026 championships would bring ‘world peace’

Add The New York Post on Google The Knicks did their part, bringing home a championship for the first time in 53 years.

What would two New York championships in a calendar year do for the city?

In conversation with Esquire this week, Judge discussed his illustrious Yankees career, fatherhood and the Knicks.

He put it plainly when talking about the recent Knicks championship.

“A Knicks championship in June and a Yankees World Series in October would bring world peace,” Judge decreed.

It’s a big statement. At the very least, two championships mere months apart would make New York very happy.

Throughout the playoffs, the Knicks faithful took to the streets to celebrate one of the great teams in franchise history.

Judge knows the opportunity that lies in front of him and the rest of the Bronx Bombers.

“There’s a lot of winning going on in New York, so we got to keep that going. I like the team we have,” he told Esquire. “I like the opportunity we’ve got in front of us. It’s going to be an exciting rest of the year.”

Judge witnessed firsthand what the Knicks pulled off in Game 4 to put them a win away from the title.

“I went to Game 4 with my wife. We were kind of worried in the third quarter, but we knew the Knicks,” Judge told the publication.

“Like [Jalen] Brunson said: They show up about thirty minutes late, take care of business. That was a special game. Never forget it.”

The Yankees have made one World Series appearance since their last victory in 2009, losing to the Dodgers in five games, but Judge is determined to bring the Yankees back to their championship ways.

Said Judge: “Obviously I want to win. I want to do a lot of great things in this city and put the Yankees back on top.”
