Add The California Post on Google Following his release from jail on Tuesday, Rashee Rice had zero interest in telling the public how his time behind bars went.
The Kansas City Chiefs star sprinted away from a group of reporters who had gathered at Dallas County Jail to interview him after he had spent the past month at the Texas facility.
In video captured by FOX4, Rice could be seen walking backward to avoid being photographed, before he bolted out of a door and ran down a street into a black SUV.
Rice’s vehicle then took off without the wide receiver or anyone from his camp addressing media.
Rice was initially booked into the jail on May 19, after he allegedly violated conditions of his probation by testing positive for THC.
Rice had been on probation after he pleaded guilty to two felonies stemming from his role in a high-speed car crash in March 2024.
During the incident, Rice raced a 2020 Lamborghini Urus SUV down a Dallas highway before he lost control and collided with others on the road. He then fled the scene.
Rice, who ultimately pleaded guilty to one count of racing on a highway causing bodily injury and one count of collision involving serious bodily injury, was sentenced to five years probation and ordered to pay restitution to victims.
Rice was in jail for a total of 30 days, though court records show he was allowed to leave the facility periodically to receive treatment on his knee that he recently had surgery on.
While behind bars, Rice missed the Chiefs’ mandatory OTA mini-camp.
The Chiefs are scheduled to begin their season on Sept. 14 at home against the Broncos.
