Knicks reporter speaks out over Taylor Swift hot mic disaster: ‘I love a little commotion’

Add Page Six on Google New York Knicks reporter Monica McNutt bragged that her shady comment about Taylor Swift caused a “commotion.”

On Monday, McNutt reshared the video of Knicks players Jalen Brunson defending her for dissing Swift in their interview from Game 5 of the NBA Finals.

“King of New York, we good over here,” McNutt wrote on her Instagram Stories alongside the clip.

“You know I love a little commotion,” she added.

When McNutt, 36, interviewed Brunson, 29, after the Knicks won the NBA Finals on Saturday, the basketball player gave a message to the Swifties who have been attacking the ESPN personality online.

“I just want to say something to the Swifties: She’s a really good one,” Brunson said.

“Cut her some slack,” the NBA champion added. “It’s all good, I promise.”

During Game 4 of the NBA Finals last Wednesday, McNutt was caught making a shady comment about Swift, who sat courtside in Madison Square Garden with her pals Alana and Este Haim.

“She’s not a Knicks fan,” McNutt said. “Get out of here, girl.”

The next day, McNutt told TMZ that she “misspoke” about Swift’s Knicks fandom — but pointed out the “Opalite” singer hadn’t been to a Knicks home game all season.

“I had not seen her here, this year or last year,” McNutt said.

The sports analyst also mentioned how Swift went to a Cleveland Cavaliers game against the Knicks with her fiancé, Travis Kelce, last month, which caused a stir with New Yorkers.

“She didn’t have on any Knicks paraphernalia,” McNutt noted. “So, I did not know of her Knicks loyalty.”

When McNutt went on “The Breakfast Club” last Friday, she denied race was a factor in her criticism of Swift.

“Quickly people were like, ‘Oh, you’re racist.’ No, I’m kind of stating a fact,” she explained. “But we have had to live in the fact and it makes everybody else uncomfortable.”

Swift has owned a home in New York since 2014 and shown support for the Knicks multiple times over the years.

She was one of the many A-listers who watched the Knicks beat the Spurs 107-106 during Game 4 inside MSG — the same place she’s rumored to be marrying Kelce over July 4th weekend.
