Watch Scottish World Cup fan’s jaw-dropping reaction to Patriots cheerleaders

Add The New York Post on Google A World Cup fan from Scotland went viral when he got a taste of American hospitality during a weekend game in Boston and couldn’t believe his eyes.

The supporter — part of his national team’s devoted fanbase dubbed the Tartan Army — was quite taken with the New England Patriots cheerleaders’ performance on the massive screen at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass., at the Group C match Saturday.

As the women performed before the start of the match, the soccer die-hard took out his phone and started recording the gyration- and twerking-heavy routine.

He then turned the camera on himself, his mouth agape and his eyes as big as saucers, reveling in the all-American spectacle unfolding before him.

Scotland ended up defeating Haiti 1-0 — besting them for the first time in a World Cup match in 36 years — but based on the look on the man’s face when watching the cheerleaders, he would have been satisfied no matter the outcome.

His video was viewed more than 4.7 million times on X, with many commenters celebrating the impromptu cultural exchange.

“Welcome to America pal! Spread the word, we aint all bad,” one commenter wrote.

Another person chimed in, “That, friends, is another reason to love American football!”

Someone else said, “God I love America. This is classic.”

The viral video is the latest example of the wholesome recurring theme for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in which overseas visitors marvel at unique American offerings that US residents often take for granted and document their reactions online.

This has included Japanese visitors being gobsmacked by the existence of bottomless chips and salsa at Mexican restaurants, German soccer fans getting their first taste of Waffle House and a Swedish woman discovering and falling in love with ranch dressing.
