Yuen will assume office on Tuesday after retiring from nearly four-decade police career

Albert Yuen Yuk-kin, a former deputy commissioner of operations with the Hong Kong police, will lead the FEHD after retiring from his 37-year police career, the government said on Monday.
The post is among two high-level official positions filled through open recruitment. Along with the director of information services role, both appointments went to individuals with police backgrounds.
The move is reportedly part of the city’s ongoing civil service reforms.
He had been stationed in various crime investigation units in the 1980s and 1990s, and dealt with the rampant armed robbery cases back then.
