HBO just dropped some bittersweet news about Industry.
The critically acclaimed HBO series has been renewed for its fifth and final season, which series creators Mickey Down and Kondrad Kay promise will end the show on an “unparalleled high.”
But HBO also shared some rather surprising news for Industry Season 4, which is airing new episodes every week now: The Industry Season 4 finale will premiere on HBO and HBO Max a whole hour earlier this Sunday, March 1, at 8 p.m. ET.
Season 4 followed Harper (Myha’la) and Yasmin (Marisa Abela) at the top of their game as they navigate new relationships and even higher stakes that threaten their toxic friendship.
This latest season saw the introduction of Kit Harington as Sir Henry Muck and Max Minghella as Whitney Halberstram. Kiernan Shipka, Charlie Heaton and Toheeb Jimoh also joined this season.
The season saw a similar shakeup when an episode coincided with the Super Bowl in February. Except that time, the new episode began streaming a whole two days ahead of schedule.
Though it’s unfortunate that the series is coming to an end, Down and Kay promised it was time.
“For some time now we have been thinking about how best to end the show on an unparalleled high,” they said in a statement. “Unlike some of our characters, we know when to leave a party.”
Their statement continued, “The characters will live on because of their world class performances. Seeing the HBO ident in front of our work will never stop being a thrill. It remains the best place to make television, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration well into the future.”
