Add Page Six on Google Comedian Laura Clery almost died when she was “pinned” by a refrigerator in a “terrifying” freak accident several weeks ago.
The 39-year-old called the incident the “most terrifying night of my life as a single mom” in an Instagram post on Thursday.
“I was home alone getting ready for bed when my 600 pound fridge slammed into me and pinned me against the counter,” she wrote.
Clery said she “couldn’t move” and “couldn’t breathe” as she struggled to get the fridge off her, noting that her children, Alfie, 7, and Poppy, 5, who she shares with her ex-husband, British record producer Stephen Hilton, were home during the crisis.
“I genuinely didn’t know if I was getting out of that alive,” Clery shared.
However, Clery was able to call 911 from her phone in her pocket and was rescued by first responders.
“It took three firefighters to lift it off me,” she said. “I’m still shaking.”
Clery also shared a video of herself being rushed into an ambulance and asking first responders if they think she “broke anything.”
“That’s why we are going to take you to a trauma center,” one of the firefighters replied.
Clery then moaned in pain and said, “F–k, it hurts.”
The YouTuber elaborated on the incident in a Patreon post with photos of her in the ambulence and hospital.
Clery said “the pain was so intense it almost didn’t feel real” and that her daughter Penelope’s crying made her “panic” even more.
She added that her son Alfie “ran outside, probably scared out of his mind.”
Clery, who is now back home recovering from the incident, also joked that while she was pinned under the fridge, she thought to herself, “this is the dumbest way anyone has ever died.”

Sending you so much love. This is terrifying and absolutely a single mums worst fear,” one fan wrote. “I’m so sorry Laura and so glad you’re all okay.”
Someone else said, “I’m really glad you are ok and that help got to you fast.”
But some of Clery’s followers bashed her for filming part of the incident.
“Why were you recording in the middle of getting put into an ambulance?” one fan asked.
“The firefighters are clearly annoyed. Nobody records after something like that,” another fan noted.
Clery has been a single mom since splitting from Hilton, 52, in early 2023 after ten years of marriage.
The comic has said Hilton’s relapse into substance addiction played a big role in their split.
In a May 2025 Instagram post, Clery said she reached a “breakthrough” in her life and wants “peace,” “connection” and “to be around people who bring out the best in me.”
“I want out of the chaos and the toxicity,” she added. “I have no desire to engage in drama.
