Marshall Are you ready to give Dad a gift that will move and shake him?
It may seem far away, but Father’s Day is next month. Unless you want to be left scrambling at the last minute, this is the perfect time to find a gift for the hard-to-shop-for dad.
Sure, he may say he doesn’t need anything, but he’ll change his tune when he unwraps this Jimi Hendrix-inspired speaker from Marshall.
The Marshall X Hendrix Action III is a limited edition speaker any dad will love. Part of the brand’s 60th anniversary collection, it’s got the beauty and the bass every Marshall speaker has, but the kaleidoscopic “Purple Haze” inspired design truly sets it over the top.
Every time Hendrix took the stage, Marshall was the brand that accompanied him and he even famously used Marshall Super Lead amplifiers in his onstage setup. For super fans, this collab is a long time coming.
The collection includes the Acton III Bluetooth speaker, as well as a 1959 JMH Half Stack amp and Dunlop Fuzz Face pedal bundle that’s reminiscent of Hendrix’s own setup.
I’m a personal lover of Marshall speakers, having gifted the Willen 2 last year to my mom on Mother’s Day. But when I saw that Marshall dropped this beauty, I had to see if it was time to shop a speaker for Father’s Day as well — and I was pleasantly surprised.
Marshall’s speakers have always had a retro build and feel that makes them look more like decor than speakers themselves, but this kaleidoscopic, trippy design really pushes that over the top. Not only does the Acton III deliver big bass and room-filling sound, but it also looks like a piece of art — something that’s sure to delight Dad this Father’s Day.
Marshall Featuring balanced sound at all volumes, the Acton III even features amp-inspired knobs up top for a tactile experience when it comes to switching up volume, bass or treble. As someone who hates using a companion app to adjust these settings — and my 65-year-old dad has a genuine hatred for apps too — the knobs make it easier to adjust music settings without the hassle and headache.
If your dad loves rock music as much as mine does (I mean, let’s just cue up “All Along the Watchtower”), there’s no better way to celebrate Hendrix’s psychedelic sound than with this cosmically awesome speaker.
