The replacement for outgoing Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) acting director Todd Lyons was announced Tuesday.
“Dave Venturella will serve as Acting ICE Director following Todd Lyons’ departure,” a DHS spokesperson said in a statement.
Venturella, who had been overseeing contracts for immigration detention facilities, previously held roles at the agency under former Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush.
He also served as leader of GEO Group, a private prison company.
