Olympian Nyjah Huston clashes with male Karen at iconic skate spot: ‘You need a badge or something’

Even Olympic heroes aren’t immune to being pestered by busybodies.

Nyjah Huston, who won a bronze medal for the US at the 2024 Paris Games, showed on his Instagram Stories on Tuesday that he got into quite the tiff with a male Karen while skateboarding in San Diego.

The 31-year-old was hitting some stairs at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies when a man in a blue button down and jeans attempted to put a halt to his skate session.

The guy, with a laptop bag strewn across his shoulder, told Huston he had “a responsibility” to boot him from the property.

Huston, though, clearly wasn’t loving the idea of leaving.

“They’ve got to give you a badge or something,” he said. “Because …”

“I’m just trying to protect a national historic landmark,” the man responded. “It’s a really famous place.”

“It’s famous for skateboarding too,” Huston replied.

The two went back and forth over Huston’s claim, before the skater said emphatically, “It actually is, my guy.”

Moments later, after Huston hit yet another trick, the man could be seen in video getting confrontational with Huston’s camera man.

“No. No. No. No,” the man yelled. “OK. Get down. Get down. Come on. Let’s go.”

Seems that attempt got Huston to pack up and go, as the skateboarding star posted a picture of him in a car minutes later.

But, Huston did take a dig at the guy over the altercation in the snap, mocking him while adding a crying emoji.
