Both have ERAs in the 3s, and have helped the Yankees withstand injuries to Carlos Rodón and Gerrit Cole.

That is the harsh reality facing the Yankees’ back-end starters with Rodón back and Cole nearing a return from the Tommy John surgery that cost him all of last season.

Cole, who may only need one or two more rehab starts before returning, impressed at Double-A Somerset on Sunday, striking out eight and throwing a fastball that got up to 99 mph.
