Missouri man arrested after New Orleans terrorist allegedly used his bomb-making tutorials to carry out NYE attack

A Missouri man has been arrested for allegedly posting bomb-making tutorials online that were used by the ISIS flag-carrying terrorist who killed 14 people in New Orleans on New Year’s Day.

Jordan Derrick, 40, is accused of filming and posting a slew of videos on social media that show him making explosive materials, including detonators, federal prosecutors said Tuesday.

The step-by-step guides were allegedly downloaded by Shamsud-Din Jabbar — the terrorist who plowed a truck into a crowd of New Year’s Eve revelers in New Orleans on Jan. 1, 2025, killing 14 people and wounding dozens more.

Jabbar used the tutorials to build the improvised explosive devices he planted around New Orleans ahead of the attack, according to a federal complaint.

One of the explosive materials Derrick used in his how-to guides — RDX — was allegedly found in Jabbar’s truck in the aftermath, court filings state.

The devices Jabbar planted around the famed Bourbon Street never ended up detonating.

Derrick, meanwhile, was hit with a slew of charges on Tuesday — including manufacturing explosives, unlawfully possessing an unregistered destructive device and distributing information related to the manufacturing of explosives.
