Spencer Pratt hit with nasty accusation by mayoral rival Nithya Raman

Far-left Los Angeles mayoral candidate Nithya Raman wildly accused opponent Spencer Pratt of pushing “fascism” as the former reality TV star gains ground in the race.

The socialist-linked Raman appeared on a podcast with progressive host Brian Tyler Cohen and compared Pratt to President Donald Trump while offering her take on who the independent candidate “really represents.”

Spencer Pratt has seen a recent surge as he tries to unseat incumbent Mayor Karen Bass. Carlin Stiehl for California Post “I think that Spencer Pratt is tapping into a lot of the frustrations that people have in Los Angeles by the way that things are going, and his Trumpian qualities is exactly why I think Angelenos should be taking this race seriously, but should also be grappling with the critiques,” she said, before outlining reasons why “it feels like we are moving in the wrong direction.”

“I also think it’s a very real thing that we should take seriously and we need to grapple with and we need to offer it an honest response, a response that’s rooted in actually solving these problems,” Raman continued. “Otherwise, people will turn to fascism, to mini Trump, which is who I think Spencer Pratt really represents.”

Pratt — who is a registered Republican but is running as an independent in the race — has seen a recent surge as he tries to unseat incumbent Mayor Karen Bass.

Bass has maintained a steady lead in the polls, but a big chunk of voters remain undecided ahead of the June 2 primary.

Many are frustrated with the current mayor, citing the response to the deadly LA wildfires in Janaury 2025 and the slow pace of recovery and rebuilding efforts.

Pratt entered the race a year after his own home burned down in the Pacific Palisades Fire. He has used his experience to go after Bass and Raman, recently releasing a campaign video spotlighting their pricey homes.

Socialist-linked mayoral candidate Nithya Raman accused Pratt of pushing “fascism.” Jonathan Alcorn for CA Post Although he is a registered Republican, Pratt has said he is “not a MAGA Republican” while claiming party labels do not matter in his bid for mayor.

The last Republican mayor of Los Angeles was Richard Riordan, who served two terms as the city’s 39th mayor from 1993 to 2001.
