Mel Gibson has been spotted on a cozy date with new girlfriend, Italian actress Antonella Salvucci.
The actor and director, 70, who split with his long-term partner Rosalind Ross five months ago, appeared to be smitten with the 44-year-old local star as they strolled the streets of Rome hand-in-hand.
The newly loved-up couple packed on the PDA during an intimate dinner at seafood hotspot Micalusi Real Fish — stealing kisses before heading off on a late-night tour of the Italian capital.
According to onlookers, the romantic evening was briefly paused so the filmmaker could urinate beside a parked vehicle. As you do.
Just before midnight, they continued their date with a drive up to Rome’s famous panoramic viewpoint, the Zodiac. The hotspot is known locally as the “lovers’ driveway” and is a popular romantic meeting spot for couples.
After admiring the city lights, they then hit the iconic Fontanone fountain on Gianicolo Hill, where they were spotted kissing passionately before calling it a night at 1 a.m.
Gibson’s outing marks the first time he has been romantically linked with someone since his public split from Ross in December last year. The pair, who share a nine-year-old son, Lars, called it quits after nine years together.
“Although it’s sad to end this chapter in our lives, we are blessed with a beautiful son and will continue to be the best parents possible,” they said in a joint statement to People.
Salvucci is an Italian actress, television presenter, and former fashion model whose career spans European cinema, television, and international co-productions.
She transitioned from modeling to acting, gaining early recognition in Paolo Sorrentino’s acclaimed film “The Family Friend.”
Splitting her time between Italy and Los Angeles, she is also a recognized entertainment journalist and host, frequently presenting at major European film festivals and industry events.
Gibson isn’t the Italian star’s first Hollywood romance, during a May 2025 interview on theTV program “Storie di donne al bivio,” the blonde bombshell opened up about having a “love at first sight” romance with actor Sean Penn after they crossed paths in LA.
