Female student, 19, stabbed to death in off-campus University of Washington housing

A 19-year-old University of Washington student was found stabbed to death in the laundry room of an off-campus apartment building — and police are frantically searching for the killer who “should be considered armed and dangerous.”

The unidentified student was found slain at the Nordheim Court Apartments, an off-campus student housing complex, after cops got a report of a stabbing just after 10 p.m. Sunday night, officials said.

Police are seeking a man — who appeared to be in his late 20s and only about 5-foot-6 — who was seen running off, but is not thought to be a student.

Seattle police detectives are investigating the killing of student at a University of Washington (UW) campus housing building. Seattle Police Department “This individual just committed a homicide; they should be considered armed and dangerous,” Seattle Police Department Det. Eric Munoz told KOMO.

“We don’t believe at this point anyone else is at risk; however, this is still an armed and dangerous homicide suspect. It’s important we catch them and bring them to justice as fast as we can.”

Authorities have yet to reveal the murdered woman’s identity, or how the suspect may have known her.

The Nordheim Court Apartments is home to a large number of the university’s international and graduate students, one student told KOMO.

The entrance to each building in the complex — as well as their laundry rooms — requires a Bluetooth key through a smartphone app to get inside, the student said.

The 19-year-old woman was declared dead at the scene. FOX 13 Seattle Police described the suspect as a 25- to 30-year-old bearded black male around 5-feet 6-inches tall. He was last seen wearing a vest with a button-up shirt and blue jeans.

The University of Washington called the woman’s death “deeply distressing,” and offered mental health support to students.
