Nail-biting footage shows NYPD officers’ rescue sobbing woman dangling off ledge of skyscraper

Nail-biting body cam footage shows NYPD officers rescue a suicidal woman dangling off the ledge of a Brooklyn high-rise — as they swing her to safety over the building’s roof.

Officers rushed to the scene after responding to a 911 call for a woman in distress around 1:30 p.m. last Thursday.

Cops quickly made their way to the roof of the Brooklyn high rise, where they found a sobbing woman sitting dangerously close to the edge of the towering skyscraper, officials said.

The footage shows the officers on the scene snap into action, with one with introducing himself and pleading with the woman not to jump.

“We care about you. We don’t want to see you hurt yourself, OK?” one officer tells the woman before slowly moving toward her and asking if he can hold her hand, footage shows.

Officers from the Emergency Services Unit arrive not too long after. They set up a safety hitch, and then three climb over to the ledge that the woman is on.

“We can sit here for 10 minutes. We can sit here for a half hour. I just want to make sure that you’re safe,” one of the officers calmly tells the woman – while he’s more than 100 feet above the ground.

The hero cop then shimmies down the ledge and grabs the woman’s hand. When she tells him she’s not ready to move yet, the two sit there together.

“Look where we’re at. We have the best view of the city,” the officer cracks.

Soon after, the woman cooperates and the whole crew of cops work together and bring the woman off the ledge and back to the safety of the roof.
