Spencer Pratt drops haunting campaign video laying bare reality of LA: ‘Total gut punch’

Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt offered a disturbing image of the city in a new campaign video spotlighting the everyday reality for Angelenos.

The clip features aerial footage of a typical-looking LA block as it slowly zooms in on a homeless person and scattered rubbish at the end of block.

“LA has over 40K drug addicts holding Angelenos hostage. All it takes is one to make moms feel too nervous to let their kids just go be kids and explore the quiet streets of their beautiful neighborhood,” Pratt wrote in a caption accompanying the clip.

“ENOUGH. We are done being held hostage in our own homes. Vote PRATT today!”

The ad — set to a version of Soundgarden’s 1994 hit “Black Hole Sun” — comes after a pregnant LA mother shared a chilling story about encountering two homeless addicts on a Hollywood sidewalk while walking with her young daughter.

“I was scared. Then shocked it was so bad this time. Then furious,” mom Krystin Munson, a tech exec and former neighborhood council representative, told The California Post. “I’ve been part of lots of neighborhood meetings and know how stretched the city is.”

In a post on X describing the terrifying run-in, she said that she’s “taking a chance” on Pratt after previously voting for incumbent Mayor Karen Bass and socialist LA councilmember Nithya Raman.

“I defended you. But you’ve lost my trust,” Munson wrote. “Enough. I’m done watching my community live in fear.”

Pratt’s latest appeal to voters appeared to have an impact.

“This is one of the greatest advertisements I have ever seen. Total gut punch,” one wrote on X.

“Insanely effective message,” another added.

The ad arrived after Pratt’s wildly lauded “They not like us” spot highlighting Bass and Raman’s multimillion-dollar homes.

His recent surge in popularity comes after a mayoral debate this that viewers saw as a resounding win for the former reality TV star.

Pratt has drawn praise as a serious candidate from several political experts, including those on the left.
