‘The Wire’ actor James Ransone’s widow gives heartbreaking update on family after actor’s death

“The Wire” actor James Ransone’s widow, Jamie McPhee, opened up about single parenting five months after her husband’s death.

McPhee shared an Instagram post Tuesday for her son Jack’s 7th birthday and thanked her family and friends for helping her raise her and Ransone’s two children.

“Baby king Jack is 7 today. 😭 I can’t believe it,” McPhee began her tribute to her son, which included photos of the family of four.

She called Jack “the most handsome, stubborn, funny, affectionate, strong boy,” adding, “We wouldn’t want it any other way. Love you to the moon and back!”

McPee continued, “And to all of our friends and family – it takes a village indeed. We love everyone so much. Thank you for all your support, love, kindness, food, tears, and laughs these last 5 months.”

At the end of her post, McPhee said she “can finally see that every day is a gift” after losing her husband.

“So on this one we celebrate Jack together,” she added. “Thank you thank you thank you.”

The “It Chapter Two” died by suicide in December in Los Angeles. He was 46.

McPhee shared a heartbreaking tribute to her spouse after his death, thanking him for giving her “the greatest gifts”: their two children.

She also said, “I told you I have loved you 1000 times before and I know I will love you again.”

A GoFundMe page was created after Ransone’s death to help McPhee and her kids “navigate life after an unimaginable loss.”

The fundraiser has raised over $251,000 as of Friday.

Ransone opened up about his struggle with addiction in 2016, telling Interview Magazine that he got sober at age 27 “after being on heroin for five years.”
