McDonald’s hack effortlessly recreates In-N-Out Animal Style

Fast food fans may have found a way to satisfy their In-N-Out cravings without stepping foot inside the beloved California burger chain.

McDonald’s customers have been using a custom ordering trick to recreate In-N-Out Burger’s famous “Animal Style” burger using menu items available at the Golden Arches, reports Food Republic.

The hack starts with a McDonald’s Double Cheeseburger and a few modifications designed to mimic the signature flavor profile of In-N-Out’s world famous burgers, which traditionally include grilled onions, pickles and the chain’s well known spread.

Food Republic said customers can approximate the taste by adding Big Mac sauce, extra pickles and grilled onions to the burger.

Since McDonald’s doesn’t regularly advertise grilled onions on most burgers, customers might have better luck during less busy hours.

Both In-N-Out’s burger spread and McDonald’s Big Mac Sauce are variants of general burger sauces that are most similar to Thousand Island dressing.

Fast food connoisseurs csn also recreate In-N-Out’s famous Animal Style fries by ordering McDonald’s fries topped with American cheese, onions and Big Mac Sauce.

The trick, per Food Republic, is placing the cheese on the hot fries immediately so it melts before adding the other toppings.

In-N-Out Burger first opened in Baldwin Park in 1948 and has since become California’s most iconic fast-food chains, known for its simple menu and “secret menu” customizations like Animal Style.
