exclusive details New York Knicks Inside the OG Anunoby injury — and why it’s a sigh of relief for Knicks By Stefan Bondy Published May 7, 2026, 3:52 p.m. ET OG Anunoby (8) drives against VJ Edgecombe (77) during the Knicks' Game 2 win over the 76ers on May 6, 2026. Charles Wenzelberg / New York Post The Knicks dodged a bullet.
OG Anunoby is truly considered day-to-day after imaging revealed a “very minor” hamstring strain, league sources told The Post, and will officially be listed as questionable for Friday night against the Sixers.
It’s a sigh of relief after Anunoby came up hobbling in the final minutes of Wednesday’s Game 2 at MSG, when he asked to be subbed out and never returned to the bench as the Knicks won, 108-102, to take a 2-0 series lead.
Anunoby did not speak to the media afterwards and coach Mike Brown pled ignorance on the severity. But Anunoby’s real-time reactions to the pain also offered clues it wasn’t as serious.
