ShareSaveAdd as preferred on GoogleOlivia IrelandPA MediaA man has been arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and possessing an offensive weapon close to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's home in Norfolk.

Police were called to a report of a man behaving in an intimidating manner in the village of Wolferton, near the Sandringham Estate, at about 19:30 on Wednesday.

A man wearing a balaclava allegedly ran towards the former prince while he was walking his dogs, the Telegraph reports.

Mountbatten-Windsor and a member of his private security rushed to their car and drove away as the suspect allegedly tried to chase after them, the paper reported.

Norfolk Police said the suspect was taken to King's Lynn for questioning and remains in custody.

The incident was near Marsh Farm, the property on the Sandringham Estate that Mountbatten-Windsor moved to after leaving Royal Lodge in Windsor due to his association with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Mountbatten-Windsor has been approached for comment.
