Medallion reports high-grade drill results at Kundip Mining Centre Drilling targeted the Gem deposit · Mining Technology Shree Mishra Mon, November 2, 2026 at 6:46 AM EST 2 min read GC=F +0.32% HG=F +0.67% MM8.AX -2.56% Medallion Metals has announced the final results from its 2026 infill drilling programme at the Kundip Mining Centre in Western Australia, where the Ravensthorpe Gold Project development is underway.
The drilling focused on the Gem deposit, with the aim of improving lode definition in the areas scheduled for development during the first year of the mine plan.
According to the company, the infill drilling largely confirmed previous high-grade results in the targeted early development zones.
Key intercepts reported included 3m at 17.8 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 0.3% copper from 66m, and 2m at 21.3g/t gold and 0.8% copper from 58m.
Additional results such as 4m at 6.6g/t gold and 0.7% copper from 252m were also recorded.
Exploration at the Gem deposit is intended to support detailed mine design and scheduling, particularly for the initial stage of underground operations planned for 2027.
The deposit is characterised by narrow, structurally controlled, high-grade gold-copper lodes.
Medallion Metals reported that 22 reverse circulation (RC) and diamond holes were drilled, totalling 3,093m across the upper levels of the Gem deposit.
The results are said to enhance confidence in the grade, width, and geometry of the lodes, while several short-strike lodes were closed off as expected, aiding the mine planning process.
All results from the 2026 Gem infill drilling programme have now been issued, with further grade control drilling planned from underground platforms in 2027.
Development at the Ravensthorpe Gold Project is progressing, with bulk earthworks advanced and box-cut excavation reported at 55% completion.
Underground development is scheduled to start in November 2026, with first underground ore expected in the second quarter of 2027.
In addition, Medallion Metals is preparing to launch a 9,000m resource-extension and exploration drilling programme at Kundip in November 2026, targeting extensions of existing mineralisation at several deposits and new deeper targets.
Medallion managing director Paul Bennett said: "The Gem infill drilling results have reinforced our confidence in the early mine plan at Ravensthorpe, broadly confirming the grade, width and geometry of the high-grade lodes scheduled for mining during the first year of underground operations.
"Importantly, planned cross-cut locations are now confirmed, and the structural information collected from diamond drilling has improved our understanding of the broader stacked lode system."
