76ers up next for Knicks in playoffs after surviving Jayson Tatum-less Celtics in Game 7 thriller

It was nearly an improbable victory for the Celtics, nearly managing to snag a Game 7 victory without superstar Jayson Tatum — ruled out Saturday due to a left knee injury.

It was nearly the rematch everyone expected between the Knicks and the Celtics entering the postseason, when these teams appeared on a collision course.

Instead, the 76ers survived, toppling the No. 2-seeded Celtics, 107-100, to advance to the Eastern Conference semifinals and face the Knicks.

Joel Embiid led Philadelphia with 34 points while Tyrese Maxey added 30, and Jaylen Brown poured in 33 points to pace Boston.
