Boy, 16, hid gun in sock that pal used to shoot teen on NYC train — with victim left paralyzed: sources

A 16-year-old boy was busted for allegedly hiding a gun in his sock that his pal used to shoot another teen on board a Queens rush-hour train, cops and law enforcement sources said Thursday.

The unidentified 16-year-old was picked up Wednesday afternoon by members of the NYPD’s Neighborhood Safety Team – who recognized him as wanted in connection to the 6 p.m. Monday A train shooting that left a 15-year-old paralyzed from the waist down, according to authorities and sources.

He was charged with attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

The arrested boy – who had allegedly shot and wounded the same 15-year-old in another incident in February – had a gun in his sock when his pal took it out and blasted the victim as the train approached the 80th Street station in Ozone Park, sources said.

The pair then fled as the victim – who was struck in the neck and back – was rushed to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center.

“He’s paralyzed from the waist down,” the victim’s mother, who only wanted to be identified as Ms. Davidson, previously told The Post. “He had 8 [blood] transfusions. Both of his jaws are broken. His lung is pierced and his liver is pierced as well.”

The alleged shooter, seen in surveillance images released by the NYPD Tuesday, was still on the loose Thursday.

The violence erupted when the victim recognized the now-in-custody 16-year-old from the February shooting, sparking a fight, sources said.

The teen victim was shot in the leg during a dispute around 4:55 p.m. Feb. 7 on Everdell Avenue near Gateway Boulevard in Far Rockaway — and the alleged gunman was arrested 10 days later, the sources said.

But the young victim suddenly became uncooperative and refused to provide testimony, so the district attorney’s office declined to prosecute the case, the sources said.
