Amazon Brace yourselves; Amazon’s biggest shopping event is back and sooner than you might think.
The e-tailer just dropped a surprise announcement that Amazon Prime Day will return in June this year — by comparison, last year’s Prime Day was in mid-July.
There’s always a lot of buzz surrounding Prime Day 2026. Historically, Amazon Prime Day almost rivals Black Friday and Cyber Monday as the biggest sale of the year.
If you’re new to Prime Day, remember that Amazon Prime Day is exclusive to Prime members only, so now is the time to sign up and get your membership all ready before the big day arrives.
Find out everything we know about Amazon Prime Day 2026 below.
When is the next Amazon Prime Day in 2026?
Amazon confirmed its Prime Day will return in June, but the company has yet to announce exact dates or how long the sale will last this year. Historically, Prime Day is a 48-hour event, so whereas June may break with tradition, we wonder if Amazon will go with four-day festivities again this year.
Prime Day is one of the biggest sales events of the year, exclusively for Amazon Prime members. Barring 2020, the event has always been held sometime in the summer. Prime Day is your opportunity to shop top-rated tech from Apple to Samsung and more for less, as well as deeply discounted beauty deals, home essentials on mega sale and much, much more.
Prime Day shopping is almost like running a marathon, finding new and amazing deals at each checkpoint as you blaze through the event. In fact, some deals do extend into the rest of the week, but it’s safe to say that the true blockbuster deals sell out within the first day.
Blink, and you’ll miss some of the best offers. Amazon Prime Day is known for its quick-hitting lightning deals, which are sometimes scheduled to last a few hours but can end up selling out in mere minutes. Last year, some of the best lightning deals included nonstick pans, durable water bottles and trending tech at never-before-seen low prices.
What’s more, Amazon’s own products (think Kindles, Fire TVs, Echo Dots and more) often get heavily discounted during Prime Day too. So if you’ve got your eye on a new e-reader, Prime Day will be the time to buy.
The bottom line? If you’ve got a Prime membership and love a good deal, Prime Day is your time to shine.
Do I need to be a Prime member to shop on Amazon Prime Day?
Yes, you do need to be an Amazon Prime member to access Prime Day deals. There will always be a few discounts visible to all, but all of the best deals will be locked as Prime-exclusive, and your first-class ticket is a Prime Day membership.
Amazon does offer a 30-day free trial for its membership if you’re looking to try it out, but as a Prime member myself, I can safely say the investment is worth it. Not only will you consistently get access to exclusive deals, but you’re also eligible for free two-day shipping, and you get access to Prime Music and Prime Video.
What deals can I expect on Amazon Prime Day?
Amazon Prime Day is, of course, the best time to shop for any Amazon devices, as mentioned above.
But it’s also a great time to shop for home essentials — we always find Crest Whitestrips and Waterpik flossers on sale. And, if you’re a big tech fan, it’s also the best time to shop for Apple products because of steep discounts.
Other discounts show up on top-rated beauty, where you can stock up on all the skincare and makeup products you need for the year during the multi-day Prime Day event.
Last year’s biggest deals included a variety of Apple AirPods, BIODANCE Bio Collagen Real Deep Mask and Dawn Platinum Powerwash Dish Spray. Amazon products like the Ring Doorbell also dominated. We expect to see similar big deals this year, and as soon as they start rolling out, we’ll list them right below.
Are there any early Prime Day deals?
It’s still too soon for early Prime Day deals to be rolled out yet, but lucky for you, there is a top-notch Amazon section just for daily deals packed with savings, live right now. Find a few of our favorites below.
