WHCD suspect Cole Allen took smirking selfie while armed to the teeth before attack on ballroom: docs

WASHINGTON — Prosecutors have released a chilling new selfie that suspect Cole Tomas Allen took about 30 minutes before attempting to barge through security with two firearms and multiple knives during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

Allen, 31, was seen smirking in his hotel room, wearing a shirt and tie with multiple knives, guns and extra ammo strapped to him.

“At approximately 8:03 p.m., while back inside his hotel room, the defendant used his cellphone to take a photograph of himself in the mirror,” prosecutors explained in a motion seeking pretrial detention.

“The defendant’s prescheduled emails with the ‘Apology and Explanation’ attachment were sent a few minutes later, at approximately 8:30 p.m.,” they added. “Shortly thereafter, the defendant rushed the screening checkpoint on the Terrace Level of the Washington Hilton with a raised shotgun.”Allen, who was arraigned on Monday, is facing three criminal counts, including a charge of attempting to assassinate the president.
