Items sold across major retailers such as Amazon and Walmart have been recalled due to child safety concerns.
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalled a wave of products in April, spanning household goods, toys, fitness equipment and infant products.
Safety regulators cited a range of risks, including choking and suffocation to chemical burns, impact injuries and potentially fatal accidents involving children.
Several of the products were sold either exclusively or primarily on Amazon.
One product affected by the recall is Wiifo Children’s Tower Stools, which were sold on Amazon between June 2022 and March 2026. About 9,700 units were recalled, with more than 22 incidents of stools collapsing reported, which resulted in six injuries, such as contusions and scrapes, the CPSC said.
The CPSC said that the tower stools can collapse or tip over while in use, and since a child’s torso can fit through the openings on the side, there’s a risk of serious injury or even death from falls or entrapment hazards. Consumers should stop using the recalled tower stools immediately and contact Wiifo for a full refund.
A separate recall involved AMZCMJ DGD Children’s Tower Stools for the same reasons, CPSC said. About 130 units sold on Amazon from February 2025 through March 2026 were affected, and the agency said consumers should stop using the product immediately and contact AMZCMJ DGD for a full refund.
They noted that consumers will be asked to destroy the stool by writing “recalled” in permanent marker on all sides, disassembling it and submitting a photo of the destroyed stool. There were seven incidents reported, resulting in four injuries such as contusions, splinters and scrapes.
The CPSC also recalled about 3,240 units of mGanna Sodium Hydroxide (lye) Pellet Bags sold by Archie Xpress. The bags are supposed to be in child-resistant packaging as required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act (PPPA), but the packaging is not child-resistant, which poses a risk of chemical burns and irritation to the skin and eyes.
Products also violated the labeling requirements for hazardous substances under the Federal Hazardous Substances Act (FHSA). No injuries or incidents were reported so far.
Another recall dealt with children’s toys. KMUYSL Big Red Barn Farm Animal Playsets were recalled due a violation of the small parts ban. The toy, which is intended for children under three years old, features fence handles that can detach from the toy and pose a choking hazard. About 3,000 units affected were sold on Amazon from July 2023 through June 2025.
In another child-related recall, about 2,100 units of Cpzzkq baby loungers sold on Amazon from October 2025 to November 2025 were recalled due to violating the mandatory safety standard for infant support cushions. The CPSC noted that the padding on the cushion can obstruct an infant’s breathing, creating a risk of injury or suffocation.
Meanwhile, at Walmart, recalls impacted toys as well as fitness equipment.
BlissfulDestiny Magnetic Stick Figure Sets that were sold on Walmart.com from May 2025 to October 2025 were recalled for violating the mandatory standard for toys. The stick figures contain loose magnets that can be detached and swallowed, causing risk to children.
The CPSC noted that when a child swallows high-powered magnets, the ingested magnets can attract each other or other metal objects and become lodged in the digestive system, which can lead to perforations, twisting, and/or blockage of the intestines, blood poisoning and death.
In a fitness-related recall, Tzumi Electronics is recalling about 50,000 units of their FitRx SmartBell Quick-Select 5-52.5lbs Adjustable Dumbbells, sold at Walmart from January 2024 through November 2024.
The CPSC said that the weight plates can dislodge from the handle during use and cause serious injury due to impact. The agency received more than 115 reports of weight plates dislodging during use, with at least six injuries, including broken toes, bruises, contusions and lacerations.
