Police said they received a report at 1.34pm on Tuesday from the 26-year-old mother of the boys, aged two and three, who alleged that her helper had confined them in a cage at a flat in the Grand Horizon estate on two occasions in February.
A police source said the mother twice discovered through her mobile phone’s security camera feed that the helper had placed the boys inside the cage while she sat nearby using her phone.
On February 13, the mother saw through her phone two boys were confined inside the cage. On February 21, she saw the youngest one had been put inside.
According to the source, the mother said she did not immediately report the matter until Tuesday when she informed the employment agency and later called police. She said she remained silent fearing harm to her children.
Officers arrested the Indonesian woman, 32, on suspicion of ill-treatment.
