Anti-corruption watchdog charges officer, girlfriend and brother over alleged bribe, leaked police information and attempt to pervert justice
2-MIN READ2-MIN1 ListenFiona SunPublished: 6:09pm, 28 Apr 2026Updated: 6:21pm, 28 Apr 2026Hong Kong’s anti-corruption watchdog has charged a police superintendent over allegedly accepting a HK$1 million (US$127,599) bribe from a businessman, disclosing internal information and arranging for his younger brother to act as a scapegoat in speeding cases.
The Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) on Tuesday revealed the charges against Leung Ka-man, 52, as well as his girlfriend and younger brother.
According to the commission, Leung faces four charges: conspiracy for a public servant to accept an advantage, misconduct in public office, doing an act tending and intended to pervert the course of public justice and conspiracy to commit such an act.
His girlfriend, Lau Wai-yin, 42, faces one count of conspiracy for a public servant to accept an advantage.
Lau and Leung’s younger brother, Leung Ka-hing, 50, jointly face a charge of conspiracy to do an act tending and intended to pervert the course of public justice.
The trio were released on bail and are due to appear at West Kowloon Court on Thursday for mention.
According to the commission, the prosecution will later apply to transfer the case to the District Court for pleas.
